How CoolPV™ Works
Up to 4x the power of a traditional rooftop solar electric system
FAFCO® first combined solar thermal and solar electric into one panel in the late 1990's. Then, development was restarted with a US Navy contract in 2012. Now, CoolPV™ is tested, certified, class A fire rated, and locally code compliant. It was introduced to the market in late 2015.

Spin Your Meter Backward
The most popular solar energy system is a grid-tied system. Also known as a utility-interactive system. These systems produce A/C power using solar panels. Additionally, inverters are connected to your home's existing electrical system. Solar energy will power devices in your home. If excess energy is produced, your electric meter will spin backward. This is also called net-metering. Meaning, you only pay for energy from your utility company in excess of what you produce. The entire process happens seamlessly.
